A Hudson & Holland Platinum Scholar and first-generation student myself, bringing direct insight into the scholars I support.
Luddy LINK is Luddy’s applied-project programme. Researched applications of digital humans (AI-driven virtual personas) for business use cases, exploring how organisations might deploy digital humans across customer-facing and operational contexts.
Serve IT (Laurie McRobbie Serve IT Nonprofit Clinic) is a school-run organisation where students apply technology skills to build the capacity of local nonprofits so they may better serve their own missions. Lead 5+ nonprofit web projects for Bloomington partners without in-house developers; ship accessible WCAG 2.1 sites using React and Python/PostgreSQL, having grown into the role since joining as a first-year student. Lead ServeAI (PIT-UN), building responsible AI resources so nonprofits can adopt tools without dropping accessibility or trust.
Run Faculty and Staff for Student Excellence (FASE) Mentor Apprenticeship Program (MAP) day-to-day, overseeing mentor training, Canvas operations, and programme communications for 50+ first-generation and low-income students, having come up through the same pipeline as a mentee. Spoke at the IU Leadership Conference 2025 on student leadership and engagement.
Floor work from 2017 to 2023 (serving, till, delivery, kitchen). During COVID-19, rebuilt the website and social after closures and staff cuts. From 2023, run web and content (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) in summers and remotely in term, including Matcha and Moxie.

I am Jade Zhao ... 赵郎溪, zhao-langxi on GitHub, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Luddy HIEP Scholar, Hudson & Holland Scholar, Direct Admit, and first-generation student reading Informatics (Business and Society) at Indiana University, GPA 3.50, graduating in May 2027.
Growing up speaking English, Fuzhounese, and Spanish gave me an early appreciation for ensuring information reaches the people who need it, an instinct that began in my family’s restaurant, built from nothing after my parents emigrated from China. During COVID-19 I rebuilt the restaurant’s website and social media from scratch after closures forced staff cuts ... work I still maintain remotely from campus. Cathedral (class of 2023) is one education line on the resume; the fuller high-school list lives on zhao-langxi About. I arrived at Indiana University as a Direct Admit freshman in Fall 2023 (class of 2027), joined Faculty and Staff for Student Excellence (FASE) MAP that August, and stepped into Serve IT the following January. I now bring that same instinct to Serve IT, leading the website team for Bloomington nonprofits without in-house developers; to FASE’s Mentor Apprenticeship Program (MAP), which I coordinate having come up through the same mentoring pipeline as a mentee; to Luddy LINK (Luddy’s applied-project programme) as Digital Humans Project Lead, researching AI-driven virtual personas for business use cases; and, from August 2026, as Program Assistant for the Hudson & Holland Scholars Programme (HHSP) in Undergraduate Education.
Each summer, I return to Jade🌱, my venture offering technical consulting, web design, branding, and software support to small business owners, drawn to the experience and the chance to give back to the community that raised my parents.
I am currently exploring Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Strategy Consulting, and technical Go-to-Market (GTM) roles, where technical problem-solving, communication, and customer understanding intersect.
