Digital Humans Project Lead at Luddy, Software, Informatics @ IU, May 2027
About
I am looking for a software engineering role after May 2027, with particular interest in databases, internal information systems, IT (information technology), and ETL (extract, transform, load). If that is your world, I would be glad to talk.
I am the daughter of restaurant owners. I grew up in my parents’ Chinese restaurant in Greenfield, Indiana ... floor, till, kitchen ... before I had words like “systems” or “software.” A Friday night taught me more about operations than a slide deck ever could: if one person does not show up, everything shifts. After COVID, I helped rebuild the website and social. That was the first time technology felt part of the business, not separate from it. I did not arrive at IU (Indiana University) already sure I wanted to be an engineer. I chose Informatics (Business and Society) to understand organisations and technology together, then grew into software by doing the work. Digital Humans (AI-driven virtual personas) at Luddy. Web leadership at Serve IT for partners without an in-house engineering team. Privacy, UX (user experience), and AI (artificial intelligence) strategy along the way. Same quiet question every time: will this still work for the people who have to live with it?
Near term, I want to build close to data and internal systems. Longer term, I hope to build products and companies of my own. Eventually, a duck farm. The plan is unfinished. For now the aim is simple: ship something real, keep learning, give back.
